Somewhere Down The Road

from Somewhere Down The Road EP by Nicholas Wells

lyrics

I never knew what could be broken,
What was inside of me that could someday cause me pain.
What holds my words unspoken,
How could I fix a thing I never could explain?

I always knew I needed something.
Something or maybe someone who’d remind me I’m alive.
What can you do when you get to thinking
You lost it all and you never did survive.

You never know who you are till,
You hold someone that you know will,
And you believe
She’ll always be there.
And I don’t know what I’ll become
In a couple years, or just one,
But somewhere down the road
I sure would like to know if you still care.

Something always seems to happen
Something drives us to do something we don’t always mean.
It may seem like a solution,
But only cause the future is still unforeseen.

I’d like to start at the beginning.
To fix what I still think was really meant to be.
I think then I’d have a chance at winning,
What’s missing in my life, what means the world to me.

You never know who you are till,
You hold someone that you know will,
And you believe
She’ll always be there.
And I don’t know what I’ll become
In a couple years, or just one,
But somewhere down the road
I sure would like to know...

You never know who you are till
You lose someone that you know will
Be hangin round your heart,
And she’ll always be there.
And I don’t know what I’ll become
In the world where there’s no sun
So somewhere down the road
I’d like to still believe that you still care.
